PROJECT DESCRIPTION
KS Engineers, P.C. (KSE) was responsible for NBIS inspection of 83 bridges on the Garden State Parkway (Parkway under and Parkway over), located from M.P. 9.2 to M.P. 171.7. The types of bridges included single and multi-span, reinforced-concrete and steel structures, prestressed-concrete superstructures, and concrete and masonry arches.
Detail inspection reports were prepared for each bridge. Monthly progress reports were submitted as well. Underwater inspection of abutments and piers below mean low water for 8 bridges were also performed. HS20 vehicle load rating calculations and mylar drawings were done for NB and SB bridges over NJ Route 72.
For each bridge in a given month Master Input Forms Item 90-Date of Inspection and the condition and appraisal items (Items 58-62 and Items 67-72) were updated and forwarded to NJDOT within 2 weeks of the last inspection for that month. In order to minimize or eliminate traffic delays and maintain safe working conditions, inspections were conducted with a crew of adequate size and with proper MPT. Field surveys and inspections are being performed in accordance with the NJHA Design Manual and the Manual for Traffic Control in Work Areas, 1999 edition.
