As a subconsultant KS Engineers, P.C. (KSE) provided all surveying services for this complex NYCT project. KSE is responsible for providing three-dimensional field surveys, which include all levels, areas, and access to Columbus Circle Station Complex as well as the adjacent street.
KSE’s scope included the following:

Establishing survey base line and bench marks throughout the project to which all surveys were originated

Three-dimensional surveying to include all platforms, mezzanines, corridors and utilities within the areas of improvement including street level, stairs, ventilator structures, sidewalks, curbs

Survey of base-of-rail to top-of-platform elevations at all platform edges at 25 ft. intervals

Survey of elevations of all levels of the station and vertical variations within those levels
-
Locating all vertical columns and walls within the areas of improvements

Survey of dimensions and location of safety niches, depth of niches and centerline of track to back wall of niches at the IND Station

Detail mapping of the ceilings at selected areas of the mezzanine, IRT, and IND levels.
Submission of all survey information formatted in accordance with NYCT standards (Microstation V8) in a 3D format.
