Mr. Anindya (Andy) Chakraborty serves as Vice President and Manager of the firm’s Connecticut operations and leads the Traffic and Safety Engineering practice. He brings over 25 years of comprehensive experience in the planning, design, and management of complex transportation infrastructure projects across the United States.
Mr. Chakraborty has served as Project Manager and Lead Engineer on a wide range of assignments, including Environmental Impact Statements (EIS), traffic impact and safety analyses, design of complex highway interchanges and at-grade intersections, advanced traffic signal systems with complex phasing and coordination, and development of Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT/MOT) strategies. His work reflects a strong command of both operational analysis and geometric design, aligned with applicable federal and state standards.
He has extensive experience working with the Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) and multiple New England state agencies, including MassDOT and RIDOT, delivering projects in highly regulated and stakeholder-intensive environments. Mr. Chakraborty is also an experienced leader in Design-Build project delivery, most notably serving as Design Lead for the $8.5 billion Federal Way Link Extension in Washington State, where he oversaw multidisciplinary coordination and design integration.
His portfolio includes collaboration with numerous state DOTs, including NYSDOT, WSDOT, and INDOT, as well as municipalities, regional planning agencies, and private-sector developers. Through this work, he has established strong working relationships across public agencies and the consulting community throughout New England and the New York metropolitan region.
Mr. Chakraborty holds a Master of Business Administration from the University of Connecticut and a Master of Science in Civil Engineering from Wayne State University. He is a licensed Professional Engineer (P.E.) in Connecticut, Rhode Island, New York, New Jersey, Texas, Nevada, and Washington, maintains an active NCEES record, and is a certified Professional Traffic Operations Engineer (PTOE).
