Project Description

KS Engineers, P.C. (KSE) was retained to provide comprehensive professional civil engineering design and consulting services for undetermined projects at Philadelphia International Airport (“PHL”) and Northeast Philadelphia Airport (“PNE”). This opportunity included the following specific project that was planned and approved:

The task assignment involves the design of improvements to the Baggage Tug Tunnels at Philadelphia International Airport. KSE had prepared the Project Definition Document, which included the inventory and assessment of the tug tunnels with a recommendation for improvements, and a 3D laser scan survey of the existing tunnels. As part of the current task, KSE will prepare design drawings for improvements to the ventilation system, lighting, drainage, structure, and expansion joints.

The design work will also include a canopy over one open-air area within the tunnel system, and drawings for two pump stations within the tunnels. KSE will also provide MPT design and signage for both short-term and long-term improvements.
