The KS Engineers, P.C. and Tectonic Engineering & Surveying Consultants P.C. Joint Venture (KSE/TECTONIC – JV) is providing supervision of construction services under Contract No. A100.459, Bridge Fender Repairs and Rehabilitation. The work involves the repair of existing bridge fender systems and the installation of new solar-powered navigational lighting at the following four locations: GSP Str. Nos. 127.2N and 127.2S over the Raritan River; TPK Str. No. E109.83 over the Hackensack River; TPK Str. No. W115.36 over the Hackensack River; and TPK Str. Nos. W107.87 and E107.88 over the Passaic River. In addition, portions of the existing navigational lighting system at TPK Str. Nos. 84.24N and 84.24S over the Raritan River are being replaced, including the replacement of the batteries for the navigational lighting located on the bridge structure. The fender system repairs involve the repair of existing wood fender components that exhibit decay, as well as the installation of new polymer fender components (wales, bracing, and dolphin piles) at locations where the existing fender systems are severely deteriorated or missing.
