Mr. Henry Schober is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York with over 30 years of extensive experience in program management, construction management, electrical and mechanical systems design, and commissioning for complex infrastructure and facility projects. His multidisciplinary background enables him to oversee projects from design through construction and final system acceptance, ensuring operational readiness and compliance with performance requirements.
Mr. Schober has worked extensively with major public agencies, including the Metropolitan Transportation Authority – New York City Transit (MTA NYCT), the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC), and the New York City Department of General Services. He has played a critical role in the design, construction, testing, and commissioning of vertical transportation systems, including elevators and accessibility upgrades at more than 100 subway stations and transit facilities, significantly contributing to system reliability and ADA compliance.
In 2005, Mr. Schober established the Commissioning Group at MTA NYCT, where he developed and implemented standardized commissioning protocols, procedures, and documentation processes to support the timely and efficient delivery of capital projects. His leadership in this role enhanced quality assurance, improved system integration, and ensured that projects met operational and safety requirements prior to turnover.
Mr. Schober holds a Qualified Elevator Inspector (QEI) certification from the National Association of Elevator Safety Authorities (NAESA) and a Commissioning Provider Certification from the University of Wisconsin, reflecting his specialized expertise in vertical transportation systems and building systems commissioning.
Prior to joining KSE, Mr. Schober served as Vice President of Commissioning Services at GWI Engineering Consultants, DPC, where he was responsible for managing commissioning activities across a diverse portfolio of projects. His responsibilities included leading multidisciplinary commissioning teams, developing commissioning plans and specifications, preparing functional performance testing procedures, and coordinating commissioning schedules with overall project delivery timelines.
At KSE, Mr. Schober leads commissioning services within the PM/CM practice, providing technical oversight, process management, and quality assurance for complex infrastructure and facility projects. His expertise in commissioning methodologies, systems integration, and project delivery ensures that facilities are fully operational, compliant, and aligned with owner requirements at project closeout.
