Paul Kaufman, P.E. serves as the Deputy Department Manager of Structural Evaluation Services at KSE. Mr. Kaufman is a highly accomplished structural engineer and bridge inspection professional with more than 30 years of experience leading the inspection, evaluation, and management of some of the most complex and recognizable transportation structures in the northeastern United States. Licensed as a Professional Engineer in both New York and Pennsylvania, Mr. Kaufman holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering from Polytechnic University and has completed extensive FHWA, NYSDOT, OSHA, tunnel inspection, fracture-critical inspection, rope access, and confined space training.
Throughout his career, Mr. Kaufman has served in key leadership roles on major bridge inspection programs for the New York State Department of Transportation, MTA Bridges and Tunnels, the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, the New York State Thruway Authority, and the Delaware River and Bay Authority. His experience includes the inspection and evaluation of nationally significant structures such as the Queensboro Bridge, Verrazzano-Narrows Bridge, Robert F. Kennedy Bridge, Bronx-Whitestone Bridge, Throgs Neck Bridge, Mario M. Cuomo Bridge, Williamsburg Bridge, Brooklyn Bridge, George Washington Bridge, Delaware Memorial Bridge, and numerous tunnel and ancillary transportation structures.
Mr. Kaufman is recognized for his expertise in bridge inspection management, quality control, structural evaluation, load rating review, safety and structural flag oversight, and the preparation of complex inspection reports. His strong technical background, combined with extensive experience managing multidisciplinary inspection teams and coordinating challenging field operations, has established him as a trusted leader in the delivery of critical bridge inspection and asset management programs throughout the region.
