Charles “Chuck” Bunyaviroch, P.E., serves as KSE’s Director of Construction and is a highly accomplished Project Manager and Resident Engineer with over 35 years of experience in construction management and civil infrastructure projects throughout New York City and New York State.
In his role as Director of Construction, Mr. Bunyaviroch provides executive-level oversight of construction operations, ensuring the successful delivery of complex infrastructure projects through effective leadership, resource management, and adherence to quality, safety, and regulatory standards. He is responsible for guiding project teams, establishing construction management protocols, and maintaining alignment with client objectives, agency requirements, and organizational performance goals.
Mr. Bunyaviroch has a proven track record of successfully managing complex, multi-disciplinary public works projects for major agencies, including the New York City Department of Design and Construction (NYCDDC), New York City Department of Environmental Protection (NYCDEP), New York City Economic Development Corporation (NYCEDC), New York State Department of Transportation (NYSDOT), Metropolitan Transportation Authority (MTA) Bridges and Tunnels, MTA Metro-North Railroad, and the City University of New York (CUNY). He is highly knowledgeable in agency standards, specifications, and regulatory requirements, with comprehensive experience working across all five boroughs of New York City.
His technical expertise spans a broad range of infrastructure types, including roadway and streetscape reconstruction, bridge rehabilitation, retaining walls, deep foundation systems, underground utilities, water and wastewater infrastructure, electrical facilities, and commuter rail projects. He is particularly skilled in managing construction within dense urban environments, where detailed staging, coordination, and strict adherence to Maintenance and Protection of Traffic (MPT) requirements are essential.
Throughout his career, Mr. Bunyaviroch has led construction operations from pre-construction through project closeout, overseeing contractor performance, field inspection teams, and quality assurance/quality control (QA/QC) processes. He has extensive experience in contract administration, including change order negotiation, schedule control, and cost management, and is well-versed in enforcing site safety programs and ensuring compliance with OSHA, NYCDOB, and environmental regulations. He routinely coordinates with contractors, subcontractors, utility companies, regulatory agencies, and community stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution and minimize public disruption. He is widely recognized for his strong leadership, practical field expertise, and ability to manage high-risk, high-visibility projects. His deep institutional knowledge of New York City and State agency procedures, combined with his engineering background, enables him to consistently deliver complex infrastructure projects efficiently, safely, and in full compliance with applicable standards.
Mr. Bunyaviroch holds a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Columbia University and is a licensed Professional Engineer in the State of New York. His professional credentials include OSHA 30-Hour Construction Safety Certification, NYCDOB Site Safety Training (SST), NYCDDC Water Main Training, Confined Space Entry Training, and prior certifications in ACI Concrete Field Testing and NYSDEC Erosion and Sediment Control (SWPPP).
